For Voluntary Agencies

Wisdom House offers a timeless space in which to refocus your energies and recharge your batteries away from the pressures of daily life. Founded by the Daughters of Wisdom in 1891 as an orphanage for poor boys, it has a long history of inclusivity and recognising the value of individuals.

Here you will find welcoming, hospitable staff who will go out of their way to ensure that you are well looked after throughout you stay and offer any support you or your guest speakers need to get full benefit from your time with us.
Wisdom House is fully accessible with a mobility lift and Loop System. The airy conference room can be laid out to your requirements – circle or theatre-style or tables can be put out to give a board-room or café-style layout. The room is well-equipped with sound and visual equipment and free Wi-Fi.

Home-prepared meals can be provided in the Dining Room or, in warmer weather, eaten outside in one of the beautiful gardens. Refreshments are available during the day and tea, coffee, sugar and other products are Fairtrade where possible. A sunlit sitting room offers comfortable seating for relaxed conversation and our popular and well-equipped creative room is also available for art and craft sessions or can be cleared for things such as yoga, Pilates or Tai Chi sessions. Rooms can also be used for small discussion groups.

Rooms can be booked by the hour or for half or full days.
